Uringa Food Lovers Guide

Degustation for this banana bread took place at the Centennial Park event and is now available to all Uringans by popular request! It is really very, very yummy.....

Banana Bread

2 cups self-raising wholemeal flour
1/2 cup maple syrup
4-5 ripe bananas mashed
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup milk
a pinch of salt & cinnamon
Option: 1/2 cup of blueberries, raspberries or walnuts

Sift flour into bowl. Add cinnamon, salt and baking powder.
In another bowl mash the bananas together, add the milk, butter, maple syrup and mix into a mush.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mix.
Put into loaf tin, be sure to grease it first with some butter and bake at 180 degrees C for about 45 to 55 minutes, until the top has peaked and brown.
