Metro League 3 - Manly Dam

The Manly Dam map has been around for quite sometime and Bennelong continue to find new ways to utilise the area. There wer varying scales used with Divisions 1-4 using 1:7500 and Divisions 5 and 6 1:5000. I must say that the 1:5000 map was harder to read than the 1:7500 as some of the symbol sets caused confusion - is that a rock line or a track.... The assembly was in grounds of Manly Vale Public School fresh from a multi million dollar rebuild- most impressive indeed! Uringa / Central Coast fielded 3 teams; one each in Division 2, 4 and 5. We were fortunate to register wins in Division 2 and Division 4. The Div 2 is quite an impressive team with Ant, Serena and Kelvin scoring big points in the Metro competition. Their victory over Garingal was a close one 29/26. The Division 4 team dominated the SH/Ik team winning 38-14. Jim topped the scores with a 10 pointer, followed closely by Maggie, 9 points, Robyn 8 points and Melanie 6 points. Beaten but not without a fight the Div 5 team went down 33 - 22 against a very strong Bennelong team. David notched up 8 points, Jonno 6 and Gayle 4. The Next Metro League is on June 20th at Eric Mobbs Reserve, Castle Hill. Pre-entry is very important as it allows Shane, the club captail and his P.A. Serena, to select teams from the pre-entry list rather than awaiting to see who turns up on the day.
