Skinny Latte 5.0

The area around Birchgrove is amongst the most scenic Uringa has and the multitude of coffee shops and pubs for that matter makes it an appealing area.
However the rain that fell constantly for the best part of the day made it rather daunting.
Risk and Dave spent a few hours trudging the streets putting out controls. They got wet and dry and wet and dry for most of the 3 hours it took them to finish.
Meanwhile back at the assembly area a brief respite in the showers enabled the roadies to get the tents up, tables out and everything ready for the arrival of the early birds. (Event starts at 4.30 and the first starters seem always to be there at 3.30.
A bit more rain fell just before kick off and then you would not believe it the rain stopped the sun came out and all were smiling.
The entry process was speedy for those who bother to read instructions and slower for those who don't. Lisa's ability to mind read was tested with one competitor:  when asked what class they were running stunned us all with a smart a### answer of "same as I did last week". He was asked whether he ran the "smart a###  class" last week too!
Rick's double shot challenge!

Course setter Rick really had the minds racing. So many bit off that little bit too much with a large number over time. In Open Men 16 out of 17 were late back.....
It pays not to be too diligent when folding maps as Helen covered up the Ballast Park insert and so missed 40 fairly easy points.

Once again Uringa worked like a well oiled machine. Thank you to all for their fantastic work. It was great to see Margaret upright and walking after 6 weeks in plaster following her foot surgery.
All that was missing was some "accidental fruit cake"
Now if you want to read a great write up about the event click on the link below. Ross Barr writes a review after each Summer series event called "Pork Pies" and he manages to come up with a theme and weave the results and the event around that theme. This week it is all about shipping.
