State Leagues 10 and 11

Overlapping the NSW Schools Championships and State League Events brings a lot of hard work (thank you, Illawarra-Kyleah, Lyn Malgrom, Ron Pallas and others; also thank you to Destination Wollongong for support of the weekend ), a lot of energy, and an opportunity for parents to try out orienteering as well. The weather was *cold* on Saturday, but both days were sunny blue sky pleasures. On top of that is the usual State League orienteering enjoyment, with a few club members on the podium.

NSW Schools Championships

Cataract Scout Park (Long Championships) and the University of Wollongong (Sprint Championships) were the venues for this year's NSW School Championships. (State League 10 and 11 were also held - see separate post).

This was the opportunity for individuals to represent their schools, as well as for regions to compete through their represented schools. Young Uringans were represented on the podium.

Media Exposure for NSW Schools Team Members

Channel 9 Illawarra was out in force to report on the Sunday event. This included interviewing members of the NSW All Schools Team, the Carbines. Uringan Serena Doyle shared her enthusiasm at the microphone!
