Scenic Summer Sunday Sprint Starts the Year for Uringa
Mort Bay Dock Sprint was the latest outing in one of the most beautiful orienteering locations in inner Sydney, Balmain.
Course setting by Helen Murphy (in association with Dave Lotty) was full of twists and turns, using the full extent of both Mort Bay Park and Ballast Point Park. Ballast Point Park continues to be one of the most scenic and interesting reuse of a previous industrial site.
The Murphy family was out in force to support set-up and pack-up. In fact, so many Uringa members showed up to help and run that we reckoned we could have a fine competition even if no one else showed up. But they did, with over one hundred runners touring the highlights of the bay and the parks.
