Metro League 3

Sir Joseph Banks Park, Botany turned on a cracker of a day for Metro League 3. Whilst it was rather chilly when Dave and Nick arrived at the park to put out controls, the weather warmed nicely to ensure that a t-shirt was all that was needed (unless you were in the shade). The park is a fascinating place and great for a run and also great for the kids as there are so many places to visit.

The Uringa team clicked into action and before you knew it we were ready to go by 8.45 with first starters not due out until 9.30. That said some of our club were able to get their runs in early. A few claimed that they should have a time discount as they turned on controls...
The day went smoothly and our finish/entry team coped with the day competently.

Result wise well Uringa's Division 5 team were the only ones to well sort of get points as they held the BF/Knox team to a draw. Div 1,3 and 4  were beaten by the Metro super power Western and Hills

Individual results:
Strong run by Linda in Div 3 to come in 3rd overall. Great to see the 3rd place for William on the easy course. He certainly is gaining in confidence. Great 6th place for Ondrej in Division 1 where the pace is always hot!

State Leagues 4 & 5

A whiff of smoke on Saturday (burning off), an idyllic sunny Sunday. A warm autumn weekend in Lithgow/ Wallerawang/ Mt Piper/ Gardens of Stone. If you weren't there you missed a treat!

Both days offered very open forest. Saturday was middle distance, and a bit of around and over the mountain, and a few tracks and electricity wire clearings. Sunday was long distance...and that definitely meant a long leg or two, almost no tracks, and some very nice (but not overwhelming) rock.
